ADU - Accessory Dwelling Units
WHAT IS AN ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT OR ADU?
The ADU can be either attached or detached and can have a FULL kitchen & it can be up to 1200 sq ft. This is an excellent option for anyone who has aging family members that they want to keep close by. It also works great for anyone with kids that need a place to stay until they get a place of their own. Another awesome feature about the accessory dwelling unit is it can be rented. You can get rental income without having the cost of purchasing additional land. Before the last CA law change you used to have to occupy the main dwelling as your primary residence in order to rent out the ADU. With the current law changes this no longer is a requirement and you can rent out both the primary dwelling unit and the ADU.
Here at Homes West Construction, we work with a variety of homeowners and homebuyers to create the perfect living units that are both private and high-quality.
ADUs are a great way for adult children, aging relatives, people with special needs or guests to stay together, but also maintain separate lives and privacy.
